The Secretary General of the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC), Dr. Mohammad Sanusi Barkindo, has joined the Editorial Advisory Board of Valuechain Oil and Gas Magazine as Alternate Chairman.
The new eight-member council is headed by the President and Emir of Kano, HRH Aminu Ado Bayero, oil sector publication officials said in a statement.
The statement also said the board members were selected in recognition of their track records in local content development in the oil and gas industry.
Other board members include Mr. Hasan Hafidh, the OPEC spokesman; Prof Wumi Iledare, Professor and GNPC Chair, Petroleum Economics and Management, University of Cape Coast, Ghana; Ms. Omotayo Omotoso, Former Managing Director, Nigerian Tourism Development Corporation; with the secretary of the council as Musa Bashir Usman who is the group publisher/editor of the magazine.
In a letter expressing his appreciation and acceptance to serve as Chairman of the Editorial Advisory Board, the Emir of Kano pledged his support and cooperation.
The OPEC Secretary General, also in a letter of acceptance as Alternate Chairman of the Board, said: “I wholeheartedly agree that the past six years have been eventful and historic for the oil industry. , but all successes are the result of teamwork and a collaborative ethic.”
Publisher, Usman, said, “We are delighted to welcome these distinguished and globally respected personalities and thought leaders to the board and look forward to working with them.
The oil sector publication started in Abuja on July 17, 2018 and has since grown into an established media group, with an online TV channel added to its stable.
